    Welding

    Mr Sibley has convinced me to learn how to weld. has anyone been on a college course to do welding? is it something I could do at night school.

    i was thinking i might just buy a welder and start welding , it cant be that hard not worth doing a course for surely unless you need it for work, have a bit of a practice first you know

    loads of good stuff on you tube about welding and ebay do the learning CD's.

    I recently watched some you tube vids on Flux mig welding, gave some very good tips.

    Even though this guy seemed a bit dodge I found it quite useful

    I picked up the welder for one of the first times last week and have been making a sand blasting hopper. Going very well

    i learnt to weald in a few weeks, practice makes perfect, still while i cant make a smooth weadling line, ill just reach for the grinder till i can!!

    Thanks Rob, i will keep my eye out for some equipment. What kind of welding is needed for cars?

    I'm certainly no expert but I am quite sure it would need to be a mig with gas.

    The flux core is great but I could see it just blowing holes straight through a car panel. (especially a 5 as we know how thin they are)

    Kenobi, ive always been interested in welding. Ive just been on a 20 week evening class paid for by my work. Learnt, arc, mig, gas + all techniques...also now been learning how to TIG weld aluminuim....really worthwhile IMO
