    paypal quicky

    just a quicky,

    as paypal take a certain amount from you for receiving a payment could someone tell me how much i should ask someone to send me for me to receive £100 after the paypal deduction

    If they have a paypal balance and/or bank account linked then they can send it as a personal gift and no charges whatsoever .

    the sender can click on pay fees so you recieve the full 100 sheets

    3.4% generally for uk to uk accounts. I get funds from europe quite often and they seem to charge a lot more than that

    re the personal gift option, I tried that *once* for 6.70 and paypal shut my business account down because they suspected fraudulent activity. That was 3 months ago, it's still suspended with a lot of money tied up in it. I hate paypal. If it's a trusted party maybe you could use bank transfer, its FOC.

    ok thanks, so if i ask for say £104 then i should clear the full £100.? i dont want to risk the "send as gift" option.

    I use the gift option for certain things ,never had a problem to send or receive .

    nor me. if i have to send money,say buying from ebay but like made a offer etc, i deliberatly put gift,
    only prob if they dont send the item you aint got a leg to stand on! no buyer protection, so be carefull

    I've moved largish amounts but only for people I trust 100% .
    A mate in France has just bought an engine near me so I'm paying the guy and he's dropping it off here .My mate has PPd some dosh to cover .
    This would be a legitimate gift transaction ......

    oh yer but unless its on here, then yes, if it goes via ebay/paypal you get killed on charges,
    listing fees,final value fees,paypal fees,
    every one wants a slice of the cake (profit)
    and its ghey
    shame ebay such a good place otherwise id choose not to sell on it
    tho i cant image what i did with out ebay b4 i knew, i think i joined first time back in 95 ebay was a small place then, now almost anything is on there lol

    I was going to say something like that but thought better of it

    The guy dropping this engine off is a Renault breaker .My Spider mate has bought a Williams lump .You want I should ask if he has any 172/182 blocks lying about ?
    He should be here this afternoon .
