you got a mention on main thread too boss
So hoping to start a fresh build when I move into the new place
Where did you get the pistons and liners from???
Looking good lads keep up the good work, word of advice get that engine stand back to James asap boys as he will be expecting sexual pleasures in return
Looking good. Looks like you'll be giving passenger rides at the next meet then
hopefully can get new runners and recaro rst fiesta seats in by then too
all done today got a few pics to up later but tbh just wanted it done, all torqued and setup thanx to finch for some additional help too, tapps set 20/20 cam timing set to literature of 113 atdc after alot of deliberation.. might come in abit later but we will see thanx for all the advice down the road, just got to drop it in now

few
more pix all finished now just got to put in
ps its got the vernier on it too
Did you not fit vernier pulley in the end then mate?
yeah done pic before i fitted rest mate all complete ready for goin in lol
is that someone doing bodywork/rubbing down in the back ground whilst your building an engine
All done now, sweet as, big thanx to Finch(james) markey mark and all others that had info input for the build and thanx james again for the engine stand, had some probs with install things breaking lucky we had spare rad and oil pipes also found a massive split in the samco oil return which ive now replaced, started and runs like a dream, its a bit lumpy but thats the cam, mike informs me it feels good, the old engine although dirty black looked in reasonable shape, just number 4 piston rings were abit down, glad its all done anywayz mick
Well done boys glad you are back up and running
Looking good mate, glad you got it all done
Looking at pic there only 2 things i'd say, first i would loose the anti-perc solenoid if you not running the entire set up and 2nd i'd fit a thermostat mate
Bloody hell ur eyes are sharp it's never had a thermostat also it's got no perc solinoid as far as I know mate I removed anti perc as it didn't work anyway we have a spare here but they love causing fires so mikes not keen lol where is perc sol situated mark
You have done a good job of the engine mate just a quick question where does that pipe go from the anti perc solinoid
No the solenoid wouldn't of opened so wouldn't loose boost. I'd remove all wiring for it too
got a call from mike today apparently the old c1j i built made 217hp @21psi on the rollers not sure of turbo probably a t28 but guy recons it had some left but was emptying bowl lol
so i was wondering why he got rid of it
Nice power.
I am suffering the same problem with carb bowl emptying currently, bloody carbs.
Best way to solve carb bowl empty is to fit an aftermarket adjustable FPR (malpassi jobbie) increase the std 4psi above what ever boost pressure you are running to 6psi above and this should not empty the bowl :-)
P.s Mick that's a good result on that engine shame you boys didn't get to turn the boost up
Hi James,
Yes I have a malpassi fitted and set at 6psi, problem is at this pressure I get bogging between high rpm gear changes.
I'm fitting a better fuel pump this weekend to see if that helps solve the issue.
Sorry for the thread hijack OP.
that should sort ya problems big time use the 044 equiv on ebay, both me and james have them on our 1.8 2.0 turbo engines with no problems and a fpr
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APS-Extern...wAAOSw7ThUeaoh
still on offer £30 delivered lol
ive got links for correct ends to if you need em
we are running about 3 bar(45 psi) to the rail
Cheers chaps, I ended up buying this http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/walbro-f...njection-pump/
I'm hoping it will help but for the money that link looks promising, Oh well I've bought it now.
