    Broadband...

Right, my broadband subscription is due for renewal and I'm currently eyeing up offers with o2 and orange...o2 because I'm a mobile customer and I get quite a saving lol

I don't want to use BT even though they are offering a very good package to continue with them.

Basically who should I go for ?

    Re: Broadband...

ive using sky wireless broadband,i think my package is called the "max" one. theres no bandwidth limit and i can fault it. i only went for it as it was the cheapest around and due to the fact thats its unlimited bandwidth.
    its not slow at all.

at the time of wanting it fitted i ran into problem with that you cant have sky through the ntl phone we used to have so i switched over to a bt phoneline and all was hunkydoory

Just remember, unless you go for Virgin its got to go through a BT line, so you wont get 5 million billion mega bitties per nano second...

With Virgin you've gotta swap provider altogether no ?

They supply the cable broadband/phone line combo I thought..

Indeed. They're also slowly taking over the world.

    Re: Broadband...

I had the completely opposite experience of Virgin and as far as I know, they scrapped the chargable customer services number, it's now free. Never had an issue except we lost the TV channels for an hour (we had a bundled package), and the internet was awesomely quick.

I'm on Virgin ADSL and it's as you say - pants. Paying for a BT phone that never gets used, and a Virgin ADSL with slow as you like connection - way worse than the NTL that they took over. I guess I need to wait for cable. I can see the exchange from my house, but the cable goes off in the other direction, so no idea where it goes to.
