    Body work.

Hi I live in Newmarket I'V brought a car that needs a lot of work doing I was told 400 would sort it but there's not a hope in the world. . Things people say to sell a car.
I hope to up load some pics of it at some point.
Does any one know of a good body shop near Newmarket or some one who would collect the car and do the work I need.
I'm stripping it all out ready .

I'm afraid that I don't know of anyone in the Newmarket area but if you're prepared to travel a bit further, there are some good body shops.

Might be worth sending a pm to Haz or phase 1 16v on here as they both get involved with bodywork.

    What needs doing?

that`s got more rust around the screen than mine. It`ll probably cost £400 to sort your front screen surround out.

To be onist there's a lot of holes every were for some one that's had lots of five's to say 400 world sort it is not the way to go.
But it's time to move on and get the work done and make the girl a mint one well as mint as it can get! Lol
I thing it has no hidden things it's 24 years old and not been touched I'm glad it's not had 5 to 10 boy racers under it so things will only get better for it.

Had a good poke around the car, main issue is around the windscreen and rear side windows as said. Boot can be replaced. The inner sills looked and felt good apart from just before the jacking point on the drive side. The rear bumper mounts are great on here and no sign going into the boot around that area. The main thing I thought of this car was its a great project to start off with as a lot of the rarer items are already in place.

    Re: Body work.

He had the car since 1990 and i`m just the sixth owner. A guy from Harrogate bought it from ebay last year but didn`t register it in his name and sold it about 3 months later to me after doing nothing to it.
Ive paper work for a piper cam but don`t know which one or even if there is one in.

It`ll be getting resprayed over winter ready for next spring.

Respray always costs the money, but if you strip down a lot of it yourself can keep the costs down. Mine set me back £1200 but they could have gone done to about £800. Cant say really looked at the electrics, the upper steering column and ignition was changed over. Put up a wanted list on here if needing parts, plenty of people have stock piles of car parts you just fall in love with these cars and with not many coming up for sale lately, apart from some real dogs or expensive ones on eBay which don't appear to always sell, the ones below £3k do seem to sell quickly.
