Committee Update

The Committee have been aware, for a while, that a number of members have been working behind the scenes to create a alternative website/forum dedicated to Renault Turbos. Although we have had no objection to this site being created and advertised through various social network sites we have learnt today that these members have started to contact RTOC members directly through our site & consider stealing club Intellectual Property.

The top priority for the Committee has to be the protection of the club, its members and its IP which has been collected over many years.

Although we were happy to compete with the new free forum and work with these members, as a number are long serving and well respected members of RTOC, we cannot allow them to continually undermine the constitution of this club and put its future at risk.

For these reasons we have restricted the access of the following members:

Mart,
Big Steve - Raider,
Adey aka Ewok,

Sending PM's out, poaching members through the club is underhand and will not be tollerated.





Hopefully the genuine members of the club understand why this is has been done, it is the absolute last resort.

The Committee are having a conference call tonight to discuss any further action and decide how to get stop all the back biting and slagging matches on the boards as we are all growing tired of it. This thread will be updated once we have made our decision.

Tonights very hard decision, from the conference call, has been to move the members listed above into the restricted members group. The actions of these members will be monitored until the Committee decide to either return thier permissions in full or remove their membership completely.

As you can see we have been more than fair by not instantly banning the members who seem to be working directly against RTOC. We would like to think this action is fair and they have been treated with more respect than we have been shown on the RTOF, as all (known) Committee members have now been banned.

I hope we can move on and put an end to this bickering once and for all, and get back to what this club was set up for 22 years ago....... Turbocharged Renaults

The committee will be starting a new topic on Rtoc main boards asking what the members expectation of Rtoc is with regards to the club, event and the committee. In this new thread we are looking for constructive feedback and any post with statements like " this is crap but with no justification or reasoning"will be removed to a locked but visible thread.

This discussion with the members wil be acted on, we will also send a mass email to all members with a link, so everyone gets an opportunity to speak.

The conversation will need to be frank and open from the members if it is to achieve any positive outcome.

We need to agree on the expectation of the members and what they want from the club. We will get this thread up and running ASAP.

Quick update.

Sorry that this has taken slightly longer than we would have liked. We are aware that questions have been asked by the above three members with regard to their situation and we will endeavour to answer these questions as soon as possible.

The committee are currently dealing with a more pressing matter which we hope to resolve shortly.
