    Original alloys/Tyres

    Hi Guys

How much do you think these are worth?
    Reconditioned 400 mile's ago.
They are straight with no kerb marks.
    look like new.
Uniroyal 195/55/13 tyres with no puncture repairs, 2 have 7mm and 2 have 6mm
this is all across the tyre no uneven wear in v.g.c.

    Thanks

I had a refurbed set with new tyres and I struggled to get £150 for them.

    Re: Original alloys/Tyres

Really, It cost me more than that just for refurb.
Take it there's still alot of speed line, uniroyal's about,
people nearly paying that amount just for a gear stick/jacking points.

I also have refurb speedlines with x4 MXV Tyres on, again x2 with 8mm yes 8mm and x2 with 6-7mm no repairs etc, these must be worth more, alloys not being on the car yet
    ideas peeps

I was shocked by it too. They sold in the end though.
I would imagine ebay would fetch a better price.

    Re: Original alloys/Tyres

I bought a beaten up set for £80 with no tyres. I had them refurb at a total cost of £200 and have bought 4 Uniroyals at just under £200 for the set waiting to go on.

So my set of Speedlines would owe me approximately £480 if I were wanting to sell them...guess I would get nowhere near that price!!

Drop me a PM if you've got a price in mind for either set.

I'm not too far away & can collect.

    Re: Original alloys/Tyres

I got 10 behind my garage but all need refurb. So they are plentiful.

But a good set with good tyres demands good money,

Take the slight ware to tyres etc £200/£275 if they are real good

    Less if less so nice.

    Just my fair opinion

How much do we think a brand new pair of MXVs in 195/55/13 would be worth? Still have the stickers on the tread and never fitted to a wheel ever

Seen them go for around £40-£50 each on eBay, but I would never risk driving on the tyre as these will be well past is best date by about 10 years.

    Re: Original alloys/Tyres

Could be interested in the set gimme 5 as my tyres are getting a bit perished on the outer edge due to age.just toying with the idea of getting new tyres or a different set of alloys

Interesting comments, about price and age of tyres.
If a tyre is ten years old but has done little or no mileage does this make it unsafe, I know technology moved on etc.. also would you prefer Uniroyal or MXV, or want to run on a new brand of tyre.

    Re: Original alloys/Tyres

Apparently rubber leeches from and degrades over time so hardens and are less able to grip, well that's my understanding. Mine seem fine but I wouldn't be very confident on them in the wet.

    Re: Original alloys/Tyres

Brand etc wouldn't bother me as long as there is no perishing and or cracking of rubber on outer edge of the tyres...(that's if it's me you are asking )
