I heard this too. Rotten underneath.
It sat in a unit in Notts for several years after the prev owner lied through his teeth to sell it, I then rescued it and MOT'd it but before mapping ended up selling it to a chap that runs a motor factors down near the south coast. This is only a few months ago.

Still B18FT engined on adaptronic when I sold it.
Stu still has it and it's now fitted with some ridiculous ALS amongst other things. Cossie engine with a UN1 'box on an RS200 subframe I think.
Shell was found minus engine & running gear dumped on top of a storage container in a scrap yard IIRC. Such a waste! Long time ago now.....
Who was the glory hunting guy that used to buy up all the famous 5s, he had a few in his barn but his best ones weren't there when the fire happened.
I wish id joined the club before buying my car, i drooled over all these cars as a teen lol. Something about the Renault Turbo OWNERS Club meant i didnt join till i OWNED a 5 lol Stupid me.
Those pictures are from the first ND in '02. You can see me sitting in my car with my ex next to the checkered grey car (which belonged to Dino?)
Ah that's right; Roscoe. Dino is his brother

Is that Nitrogen filled? If not, why not? This photo could be our advertising banner, "Come to our track day with your classic car, you'll be fine, no need to worry".
Which? It would be nice but.......... The top photo is presumably when Duncan had it and though I still have that bubble my garage has no power so the silver bag as well as containing the 5 also has half a dozen 1kg packs of desiccant which depending on the temperature keeps the humidity in the 20/30's. And though I have no detailed proof that this works the brake discs come out as shiny and rust free as they went in.
What happened to Andy cooks r5 gtt coupe rainbow warrior (C1j,dini ,efi ) I recall him contemplating selling/ breaking as he was building the 172 twingo a few yrs ago?
sorry mart got my wires crossed, thought your old raider was in the pic. sorry

He he that's my car when I first brought it way back
Not famous as such, but does anyone remember clarkey off the old site ? Guy from up Swindon way. Last i remember he had hit a deer, then put the car off the road to start up his business (spray by design). Anybody ever hear from him ?
I can remeber a gt turbo that hasn't been listed. It was in the usual magazines back in the day...
Pearl white, dimma, silver prima racing style 17in alloys 7 or 8 spoke, quad lights, multicoloured (red, blue, green, yellow) patchwork interior inc steering wheel
Owned by an asian lad
It was on a stand at Doncaster race course back in 1997. Anyone know the car or got anypics?
The renault R5 bit annoys me..... its either a Renault 5 gt or an R5gt
190 mph? I bet he thought it was gonna out run a Bugatti veyron too lol.
Do the famous 5's not all meet up on the regular and have lashings of ginger beer?
Might just be me being a tw@t.. and is has been mentioned, what about the Audi nimbus grey "euro" look R5 made by performance gti, the one with ronald turbos and combat rear bumper..?
Anyone know what happend to that one?
a old thread brought up i know but sad to see where some of these 5s end up in the endthought i seen it some where...

not sure about it being dry stored..........page 4 i have pictures of it in the mag i had.
Looks like a spearmint lol nasty colour
I think that was owned by a chap called Lloyd Bush, his username on here was Bushy? He lived around the Bromley or Orpington area.
I'm not sure what happened to the red 5, but he had a white 5 afterwards and was running 11 ish second 1/4 mile?
The last I know the white one was being restored but this was several years ago.
Just had a quick search and found the following.

Thought I would bump this as I found some old photo's. I know I have more as well, but no idea where yet. Sorry about the quality, but they are photo's of old photo's.......
Some may be famous.....some not....
Beaulieu - French Car Day - 1997
We camped in the new forest before going to beaulieu
Ultimate Street Car - 1997 & 98
Roly setting a new low 13 time I seem to recall.........using a welded diff was the story going round??
Below was 1998 for sure
Brands Hatch - Super Coupe Cup - Spring 1998 I think & wasn't a great turnout.....
Anyone know of the cup cars here?
I had load of pics of the cup cars when I went round the pits, but cant find them....
Couple more, only famous to me as it was my first 5 in 1990
If I find anymore I will post them up, but these ones were in a random place, so don't hold your breath.
Great pics mate love the old sierra in the background
Good pics . Was looking at one of the Beaulieu pics and noticed the Talbot Matra Rachos in the back ground. Brings back memories of being dragged round the local car dealers with my old man as he wanted one back in the day. I am pleased to say he did however resist as it must surely be one of the ugliest cars ever made.
Cheers guys. The beaulieu event was brilliant i seem to recall. Every kind of Renault you could imagine from all era's & there was a massive autojumble as well. I think i took the distance pics of the 5's from the monorail?? I was abit worse for wear.lol. Does this sort of big renault event still go on???
