Is there away to stop this coming up straight away after I use the logon on the frontpage? Just a bit annoying at work as I don't use it

I just have https://www.rtoc.org/boards in my favourites, it doesn't pop up when you go directly to this page.
Scoff, is there any way of stopping the board forcing you back to the top of its page when it refreshes? Evertime I'm halfway up, working through the latest texts the auto refresh happens and i'm taken to the top and have to go back down the page and find where I'd gotten to again.
??
Hi Trev,
The old site would do that too, a bit anoying isn't it. It is not atall simple to implement, thats the problem. It is possible with a bit of work to make the page remember its scroll position and return to this position when the page re-freshes. (to see it in action hit refresh on a long thread in the forum somewhere, it remembers your location). The problem with this is that we might have had new posts added to our live view and so the posts will have moved down the page, meaning the old scroll bar location is now invalid.
It would be quite a lump of work to make it a) remember your scroll location (though a cookie) then b) calculate the additional offset to shift by given the number and size of the new posts and c) jump to that location. Other confusing factors come into play like screen resolution, or the page being maximised, either make that offset a variable.
In short, its an arse ache
Actually, the latter part of 'c' is wrong, I'd just divide up the scroll bar by the number of posts and use that as a reference, but still, an arse ache
have you seen the "last 24hr" link ? That might be easier to use than using the live window to see recent posts.
Hey mate,
Aha, yeah I see. Bugger.
Aye, for that sort of work it's hardly worth it then.
