Welcome to the club mate,
172 engine would be a good place to start .
What you using the car for, everyday/fast road or plan on manning up & going on track... After all you got taught by the best drivining instructor in the world
but if you want to modd it then exhaust system ,air filter lowering it bigger alloys ect go ahead mate but its all ££££££££ and how much have you got to spend more to the point
New poster! (less than 10 posts)
it will be everyday/fastroad for now, just wanna give it something more, at the moment i got upto a thou to spend......
well im sure you will get all the help ya need on here i would start with a exhaust system and air filter maybe a chiped ecu if theres one avalible then see what moneys left if any
and see what others say on here sure they will give imput and point you in the right way ho and tell the insur/company of what you have done or it could lead to problems to be on the save side
Should of brought a ph1 172... More fun & cheaper
172 injectors, the stock ones are near there limit allready, more boost and a remap to suit, not sure if you can get a decat pipe for one yet as it's the down pipe I think, Itll need a mapping session to make it work tho
Only people I know who can are Rs tuning in Leeds, might be others tho
For £ outlay vs. power increase, I personally wouldn't bother touching the engine.
You could 'decat' the exhaust, which will help gas flow, but even then it's not going to give that much of a noticeable increase, plus it'll cause aggro come MOT time (read emissions test). No point in increasing the exhaust system bore, not at ~100hp, unless you're after a louder exhaust note.
Imho, look at upgrading the brakes, suspension, and tyres first - A better handling car will always give an overall better driving experience, and even more so if you decide to track the car at a later date.
not everything can be as cheap as a 5 to get power out of, i know the twingo was clio mk 2 based so 172 sus and stuff would go on, not sure about this shape clio tho
personally i'd lower it a lil and some nice wheels
