I had Toyo T1-R's on my old 5, and I really liked them. Because of that, I put some on my old Escort gti daily driver, and I hated them with a passion. I reckon wooden tyres would have given me more grip
Be wary of those. I had Eagle F1 Asymmetrics on my Evo. The grip was great, as was the wear rate, but all four cracked badly around the side-walls, on the inside edge. It seems to be quite a common problem with them as well.
I swapped them for Michelin PS3's, which aren't cheap in the slightest, but given the choice, I'd pick Michelin over any other tyre brand. Only because I've never had a bad experience with them on any car (Plus, we all know Renault seem to know what they're doing
).
