    Update-South east

After the TNT boys showed us the way, here is a small update on the local South east membership.

James5- Finally got his F7P turbo going & sorted most of the niggles, he's up to 14 psi boost & going strong, next thing is to fit an adj reg as the car leans out top end.
Check out this thread for updates (be quick as it prob won't be long before he pulls it out to put some other engine in, prob the R26 lump as there can't be many more turbo lumps he can try ~)

Marky Mark- He's got a few new parts to fit to his tungy & will be sticking it on the rollers on this event https://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthrea...302#post227302
He's also made some good progress on his red 5 & I'm hoping to see this up & running in the next month with the monster volvo build.
    Update on this thread

philr5t- Finally got his car done & made it to pod, I know he upping the boost more & more each day, I think we need to get this car on the rollers soon.
He's also getting married at the end of the month so I know we all wish him & his missus all the best
    Update here

JRP- His usual happy self & has just bought himself a nice Audi to boot around in while he rebuilds his minty mint 5.
    Update here

Dave H- After selling his lovely 5 I here he's smoking around in a Mini mayfair Not much room for dogging in that Dave

Fidos got a Raider- Well he hasn't anymore so needs to change his name
He's about to pick up a nice clio hybrid I hear so we'll see what progress we get on that

turbo ted- Robbie has finished his F7P turbo build, adaptronic, Scoffs mapping & that huge blower have seen some good results with over 300bhp @ 18 psi with 1/4 mile times of low 11's already. I know he's on the hunt for larger injectors already as his current ones are maxed, expect to see 10's from this car over the next few months

Myself- Well after getting totally peed off with the Raider & my suopposedly 'winter project' I've given in on it. I've had a turbo lump in it, running for a few seconds beforea couple of the lifters jacked & clashed wit hthe pistons, my fault for starting the car without it all together Now it has an N/A F7P in it & it will be for sale..... As I'm doing a R19 16v turbo out of my parts I collected from the Raider build.
Old Raider thread can be found here
    R19 T build here

phase i 16v turbo- AKA Mike the parts man Mike is his usual cheerful, helpful self, possibly the best place to go if you need Renault parts in the South East
Has numerous cars, I think he has a phase 2 in every colour & a few phase 1's as well. This is on top of other classic fords as well

fish head- Tony- a top bloke, keeps his cards to his chest with his own projects but allways on hand to help members

DaveMayGTT - Dave has been working on his car & improving the spec over the last few months, I know he's bought James's old VNT & he's also got my paddle clutch so expect to see some impressive figures later this year.
    Updates here

I'll add more in as I find more, please feel free other reps to add in any info

As you say finally running 6 weeks after I bloody planned to have it going but after running into problem after problem with the engine, seized, knackered ringlands, knackered rings, blown T28 to name a few things, it is finally there has the odd puff of smoke which is down to valve stem seals / guides but as they say No smoke No poke And as Steve has said I am still ironing out the niggly bits alot of them done but discovered running very lean @ WOT this morning so will be installing my adjustable rising rate reg over the next couple of days when I can be bothered that is.

Old Raider thread can be found here I will be starting a new thread on the 19 build shortly.
Steve, I feel for you matey with both are car's seeming to have been jinxed for the best part of the year with various problem's, but all is now looking good I am on the road with mine and your raider is 95% done after last night's work. And you picked up a fantastic 19 16v for the price which will be a good base for the turbo project.

    Re: Update-South east

    Cool well done steve.

Some little info about my little car

This year has seen some major spec changes for me since March have been running mappable ignition in the form of a Scoff Adaptronic ecu. Fitted a group by manifold which meant a change of turbo from my old Cossie T3 back to a T2 flanged blower. So my man Iain suggested a GT series turbo so we chose a GT2056 as I didn't want late spool, the wastegate looked small I decided to go external which I'm just waiting to be finished off by my fabricator.

Has been set up at 18psi at the mo which is mega safe and pulled a 14.0 1/4@102 at frog of the pod. which I wasn't too happy with as wanted to dip into the 13's but hey ho nothing broke apart from the turbo and wastegate gaskets so can't grumble.

Carcrash's car has left the garage two times this year which is good for him.

Big Dan well Scraps his track car is road legal so beware of a red and grey GTT doing the rounds as it flipping shifts.

    Here here. Good update.

Nice to know what's going on, and sometimes people are just too busy to write it up. I'm usually one of em.

    Keep up the good work.

    nice update Steve

from me as Logg said Scraps is road legal!!!

its running the group buy manifold and megajolt mappable ignition with coil packs. got it as light as i can at the moment without going to mad with a grinder and yes its got a roof vent but had to do something as i was dying from the heat. got a little problem with oil seepage into the water system at the moment but i'm sure i'll get to the bottom of it and doesnt seem to much of a problem it ran Mallory all day with out it causeing any problems.

My white one has been a bit neglected of late the missus has been driving it about but it will get some attention at some point might even look at getting it into paint.

    Re: Update-South east

Slight update on my project - Car has been going well until recently seem to have a fuel problem suspected blocked filter or the new Walbro has given up did think injectors but afr's are getting worse and worse @ WOT which makes me think fuel pump crap and the pump is a bran new Walbro GSL392 aka external 255 jobbie, I have tried to cotnact the seller and they have said no warrenty but I have found other places that say walbro 1year manufacturers warrenty any one a main dealer and able to get me a replacement pump or get this one back to them so they can look at it and sort it out

Also got a nice ticking noise which I think is exhaust or around the turbo mating flange to manifold area.
