    MECHANICS STETHOSCOPE- should this do the job?

    Im looking at buying one of these to check for det whilst tuning..

    Just wondering should this do the job, the hose looks tiny do i have to extend these ?

    also how do you fix it to the block ?

    think mark has his where the bracket for the oil pipes run along the head
    you can see it here, far right of the head

    Make sure your gental with the resonator for the steth as the cheap ones break really easly, sometimes worth paying a bit more for a sturder item. The front of the block will also do for mounting but I would say the cylinder head is best.

    the middle of the block towards the top is best as that way you can hear cylinders 1 an 4 equally and also you don't get the valvetrain noise from the head
