Fall nationals annual drag event USA

Just thought id start a thread, its the annual drag racing event in the usa this weekend for imports (jap cars to us), this is the only event that matters to the USA guys, they travel from canada to texas to the track, and this is where the big shots bring out the big guns

headlines so far just from qualifying....

all motor..... 10.1@132 honda civic (pepsi)

outlaw class... 8.4@181 hinda civic (miller/nrg)

there both new records (world records!) and that was from only quals

heres a thread if anyone wants a look, lots of pics on there

just spotted the all motor guy went 1.4 60ft! thats unreal from fwd

and one of the other turbo outlaw cars cut 141mph @1/8th (went 8.6@173)

there unreal numbers at any level of the sport, these are road legal cars

You can follow recent events here on this thread:

    http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2846642

Or if you sad like me you can watch live stream of the racing and times being run here:

http://www.1320go.com/englishtown/livetiming.php let your comp idle for a while and it will start to work (of course only when the racing) so with the time difference be a late one tonight.. If the drivers name doesnt show up but race number you can look at the quali sheets in the thread to see who is who...

Just seen the vid of the 8.4@181mph run!

That puts quite a few jap cars over here to shame!

So at a rough figure what power we talking about here from the 4-pot? I did see another vid of him doing a 180mph trap and at the end he mentioned he was scared to see the log as he reconed he topped 70psi!!!!

There is no stopping this man, 7's anyone? Whats the break down of the pass? I bet with another 1.4 sixty. Damn some cars with wheelie bars dont touch in to those sort of sixty foots. And to think he was on about selling the camo car, crazy.

I saw this on ht, I would love to have a tuning shop like most of these front runners in the outlaw class. Seeing what they sell some of the parts for no wonder they have 8 second hondas.
