    arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    went to get petrol in the 5 all was good drivin away and the battery light came on never thought anything about it as the battery is goosed anyway. then the temp gauge shots up as i get to work its bloddy thrown the alterator belt turned the engine off before any damage occured.

    thank god for the legend that is haz for sortin me out with the belt.

    as said on the phone chris you are a legend i would be buggered without you.

    Glad there wasnt any damage done, very easily done, atleast you know the symptoms now
    I always carry a spare alty belt and clutch cable

    bit foolish man.. should be common fact that battery light can easilly me alt belt snapped/slipping, and therfore waterpump not spinnning..

    my battery light flickered just once hit full boost.. pulled over for a check , all fine, check again just to be sure and realised my bottom pulley bolt had come loose.. close call

    there is a clutch and spare alty cable in my boot with a set of basic tools a bottle of water and 2 litres of oil.
