I'm assuming that a SORN'ed car would need to be trailered or brought to an MOT station by a recovery truck etc but is this true?
A stupid question maybe but just wanted to clarify this.
Many Thanks

As long as it's a pre booked MOT and you have valid insurance you can legally drive to the mot station and home again.
i thought it needed to have tax? i just use trade plates if thats the case
Totally dependent upon the copper that stopper
I spoke to the DVLA recently and they said that it did not have to be taxed as its not always possible to be.
For example if the tax has expired then you can not get any more without a valid MOT and insurance so no TAX is ok but only for the trip to and from the test centre with valid insurance.
Be no problem too drive if you have insurance and booked in with garage you MUST go straight too the garage tho no stopping at the shops etc
great fun when the police pull you make sure you have the phone number for the garage with you just in case. if the copper is a **** he will take the car.

Ive done it plenty of times ...just booked the car into the MOT station ...aslong as its booked in ..its fine
If the car is insured and you have prebooked there are no problems, but you can't go visting people on route or on the way home.
Cheers for the info guys
I shall bear that all in mind when i can eventually get back on the road
