Vintage renault racing

Happy new year and all.
Been scanning all our photo's and magazine articles recently and though I would post a preview here.

Eventually we will have a website ready, and we are planning an anchive which will be full of stuff you may find interesting. Like old race programmes, results sheets from the cup days, original information packs for championships and anything renault motorsport related. It would be good to share it all at last. Oh, and it wont ALL be fish related.

Should be up in about a month, hope these are interesting in the mean time..

Sam love those pics you are 1 lucky guy to have all that info and pics to hand alot of memories for people on them pics ,ph 1 Clio cup cars as well they are rare these days .

I have lots of articles, comparing the 'new' clio 16v race car to the outgoing 5GT, and others comparing the 5Gt to the clio 2000 racer (chalk and cheese is mentioned)Scanned 250 images so far.

just going through some of the super coupe cup ones, and you may recognise a few...

I forget who owns this one in the club... but its a bit modified now. Was raced by Wizzo in the reunion race
This was reshelled after Val hit a barrier sideways. She was cut out and broke her collar bone unfortunately. Didnt stop her racing again!

Think it was reshelled in 1999. As you can see, most of it was replaced!

so he has the youngest gtt and makes the j plates look old .

Oh, and one more bit of important history about your car Clarky.... (bet you didnt know this)
Niel McGrath (four time renault 5 champ) had a go in it for AUTOSPORT. It was just before the Reunion race.
The autosport was the 27th May 2004 one - if you can still get it

Yeah, will get round to it at some point very soon. Bit of a mission scanning all this at the moment, but Ill pick out lots of some gems and put them up.

I cant imagine there are many cars that have been driven by McGrath AND Barry Whizzo Willimas - Both previous renault champ winners (oh, and my dad making it a hatrick )

some brief promo from the 1990 championship.

love the find man nice one pic 3 made me laugh with ur mans trainers funky but at the time it was the fasion i guess.also pic 6 is a nice one with the 5s on the grid ready to race.i do remember awhile back the you could watch the last renault 5 race which was at brands hatch seen it a few times but for some reason cant fint it anywhere on the heritage part on the renault site its like they have got rid of it
