    Turbo identification

I am trying to i.d the current turbo on my car, I was under the impression it was a standard T2 when i purchased the car but somebody pointed out the AR 51 stamped on the compressor side may not be standard,

I have just took delivery of a Full T25. and while turbo is still on the car ( just need to remove the water and oil feeds) it looks to be the pretty much the same size in my eye's. I did take a snap of the exhaust side now the elbows off.

    Any idea's?

You really need to get the turbo of the car so we can see the rear housing marking's and the size of the turbine. Does it have any tag's on the core?

That part just has DA written on it,

lol i've just been back out and removed the old turbo .35 stamped on the exhaust so standard T2?.

Here's some comparison pictures, The new turbo is definitely a little bigger actually.

Also some advice needed i swapped the oil feed over and that fits fine but, as highlighted in the 2nd and 3rd picture the bottom hose dose not fit the new turbo, i tried removing the grey adapter from the new turbo but there is no thread behind it to screw in the adapter from the old turbo, The 3rd pic highlights the hose that needs to connect but is too small, Does anybody know the size of that hose i assume i need a bigger hose and a reducer to connect the two pipes?

    Re: Turbo identification

you need a t25 oil drain flange with a 16mm outlet to match your 16mm drain hose

between the phase 1 and 2 R5 the oil drain changes size, 19mm vs 16mm

I'd happily buy your 19mm version off you as it matchs my current drain hose size
